Union Installer – Journeyman/Apprentice

One position currently available.

Our union installers are apprentices or journeymen trained in all aspects of construction carpentry, specifically finish carpentry.  WOJ carpenters are responsible for installing laboratory casework and equipment including, but not limited to: cabinets, countertops, fume hoods, tables, wall shelving, mobile equipment carts, and miscellaneous accessories required to complete the project scope; unloading semi-trucks and distributing material within the building.

Responsible for unloading, receiving, distributing, and installing material in accordance with approved submittal drawings.  Communication with General Contractor and other trades on site is required.  Carpenters use lifting and turning motions to move, locate, and install materials.  Travel is required; mileage and expenses are reimbursed.

Sales Representative

Proven and focused sales representative, preferably in sales of laboratory furniture systems, casework, and fume hoods to end users, architects, and general contractors. Will join a highly skilled and experienced team, with support from initial contact through project completion. Needs to be driven, self-motivated, and have a win/win attitude, placing value on both internal and external customer service. Proactive planning, coordination, and communication are all essential to a sale, a successful project, and building long term relationships with customers.

Responsible for the growth and cultivation of end user, architect, and general contractor clients in applicable sales territory. Requires travel within the territory on a daily basis, or as needed. Responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with key decision makers within an organization in order to establish Wynn O. Jones & Associates, Inc. as a primary and trusted lab casework provider. Provide and participate in a team approach to servicing clients and projects.

Project Manager

Detailed, self-motivated, professional communicator and highly organized, placing value on both internal and external customer service. Proactive planning, coordination, and communication are all essential to a project being on time and on budget, and in building long term customer relationships.

Responsible for coordinating, organizing, and communicating all aspects of a project, including submittals, schedule, cost, production, changes, installation, and closeout. Maintain proactive customer relations throughout the life of the project. Oversee that customer intent and clear project scope are attained by estimating and are communicated clearly to engineering. Maintain vendor’s schedule and scope. Maintain cost control and contract status. Coordinate with purchasing to ensure customer’s scope and schedule are met.

Estimator

An estimator needs to focus on detail, accuracy, and meeting deadlines – essential for the success of every bid and our business as a whole. Proactive planning, coordination, and communication are all critical components in creating a clear scope, detailed bid, and accurate estimate.

Responsible for providing a competitive, on-time bid that meets the project scope and intent. Document a complete and clear scope with a detailed and accurate estimate of product, man hours, and O&P. Responsible for reading and interpreting architectural drawings and specifications, confirming project scope of work, writing RFIs, performing quantity take-offs, preparing estimate proposals, and following up on bids as needed. Provide project and job cost turn over packages. Assist and collaborate with sales and project managers to provide outstanding service. Responsible for maintaining cost controls via relationships with various vendors. Research and negotiate with potential new vendors as necessary.

Design Drafter

A design drafter must have AutoCAD proficiency, knowledge of construction industry practices, and ability to accurately read and understand architectural blueprints and specifications. Revit knowledge is desired. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential as design drafters work in conjunction with our project management and estimating teams.

Responsible for creating accurate design drawings to be used in all facets of the design phase. These may include sales drawings, architectural bid packages, and submittal packages for design approval. Read and interpret architectural drawings, specifications, and estimate proposals to create design drawings. Collaborate with sales and project management to accurately complete all necessary design and detail drawings.
